Awww, that's really unfortunate. Especially since this is one of the few romcoms that seemed up my alley--the first ten minutes were perfect to me!!! And I found the conflict of being from two different countries with two different laws/perspectives of LGBT relationships interesting. I kind of already knew that there was going to be transphobia but I always assumed it was just in passing. I'm happy to hear that they at least won't persist.

The We Are Gamily casting certainly is a... choice. One that she presumably has learned from, because look how much more effective Handsome Stewardess' casting is haha.
