1.What was the first Square-Enix game that you played?
FF7! My first RPG ever. I gave Cloud my full name, so Barret sound extra emphatic when he yelled at me that "The planet's dying, [first name] [last name]!!"
2. What is the most recent Square-Enix game that you've played or are playing?
NieR: Automata if it counts? If not, FFXV.
3. Have you read or watched any spin-offs or adaptations? (e.g. Advent Children, Kingdom Hearts novels, Star Ocean 2 anime)
Advent Children, the FF7 anime (OVA??), Star Ocean 2 anime (I completely forgot that that was a thing!), FFXV: Brotherhood and Kingsglaive.
4. Do you have any Square-Enix related books? (e.g. artbooks, references, guides)
I have the FFX-2 Visual Arts collection! But the book jacket is... not in good shape. :(

5. Do you collect any Square-Enix merchandise?
I used to buy soundtracks (in CD form) from the anime/games merch shop! I was informed later on that what I purchased may have been high-quality bootlegs; if they are, I cannot tell. XD
6. What's your favorite Square-Enix mascot character?
Cactuar!
7. If asked for a single recommendation, which Square-Enix game would you recommend?
IF IT COUNTS, NieR: Automata just for the experience of the end credits (and getting there). ;___; But also because of the emotional journeys and the scope of the story, which is both not very long but has so many pieces of lore lovingly stored in the worldbuilding.
If not, FF9! I love the music, the design... Vivi. ;A;
8. Are there any upcoming Square-Enix games you're excited about?
I don't keep up with games. :( I keep thinking about playing FF7R but don't really have the motivation. It looks pretty, though.
9. What consoles have you played Square-Enix games on?
The Playstation ones!
10. Do you have a Square-Enix Wishlist? (i.e. game you'd like a sequel to, a remaster of, etc.)
...First, I want a Vita to play games portably with. But I would like to revisit Threads of Fate/Dewprism, so remaster of that would be nice!
11. What's your most memorable fight from a Square-Enix game?
Any battle with emotional/interesting music: the stage battles in FF9, fighting Beatrix in FF9, fighting Miguel in Chrono Cross.
12. Who's your favorite character from a Square-Enix game?
Ashton from Star Ocean 2. He's fused with dragons!! Two of them!
13. What Square-Enix game has your favorite soundtrack?
My favorite Uematsu one is FF9—so many of my favorites are from this soundtrack. Otherwise, Chrono Cross and FFXV.
14. What Square-Enix game has your favorite character designs or visuals?
FF9. It's visually very comforting and colorful to look at, and the fixed camera angles don't give me headaches (a problem I have with all FF games after that). I also loved Opera's design in Star Ocean 2.
15. How about control? What Square-Enix game do you think is the most fun to play?
FFX-2. The combat system was turn-based but fun, and the dress sphere system was extra extra fun.
16. Which Square-Enix game do you think has the best or most interesting story?
Emotionally, FFIX and FFX have my heart haha. I loved the tragedy of the FFX ending.
17. Which Square-Enix game do you think has the best or most interesting world?

FFXV. I hated the story for most of the time I was playing it, but now it's one of my favorites.

Not a game, but the rabite from Legend of Mana used to be the cutest thing ever for me, but doing a Google image search doesn't instill the same kind of fondness the way it used to. ^^;

Final Fantasy, the Chrono series... I've played bits of Xenogears and Xenosaga, but didn't get far.
22. What Square-Enix standalone games have you played?
Threads of Fate, Legend of Mana (didn't get far but found it nice)

I don't keep up with this kind of stuff.

No.
26. Final Fantasy is Square's original big franchise. Have you played any of the FF series?
Several, though I've only finished IX, X, X-2, and XV.
27. Eidos brings series like Tomb Raider with it. Have you played any Eidos games?
I don't think so.
28. Taito offers all sorts of different games, including the Darius series. Have you played any Taito games?
Also no.
29. Square-Enix also owns Gangan Comics. Are you familiar with any of that catalog?
*checks Wiki* FMA? But I only watched the anime series... Same with Star Ocean.

I don't really have many memories of my cousins because I live away from them and we're just very different people as adults, but I do always remember how when I visited during summer vacations we'd play Bust A Groove. Wish we could do that online...

Date: 2021-09-11 12:38 am (UTC)Reading this made me nostalgic for the SE games~ Though my first RPG was a Sega one (Phantasy Star IV), Chrono Trigger was the RPG that got me into RPGs.
FFX is the only one I beat and liked the combat system, music, graphic, story, etc. One of these days I will beat the others, but it may take me a lifetime, haha!
